What a Blessing!
Aloha Familia y Amigos!!!
Wow!!! This week has just flown by!!! It feels like I just got here yesterday. It also feels like I live in an oven. The high this past week was 112 degrees,
and our car broke. The battery just gave up and needed to be replaced.
Sister Furstenau and I have decided that our car hates us. And we are
finding that we actually like biking. We just drink tons of water :)
I have had a couple of great moments this week.
We found out that our golden investigator had a not so golden smoking
problem. He told us that he had been smoking Cuban cigars since he was
14. Wow. And he loves, loves, loves black coffee. Wow.
Well...we were pretty discouraged about teaching him about the Word of
Wisdom. We didn't know how he would respond. All during companionship
study, we prayed, role-played, and studied how we could best help him to
realize the importance of the Word of Wisdom. We came to the conclusion
that combining the first principles of the gospel in lesson three and
the Word of Wisdom would be the best way to share our message in a
loving manner. He already has so much faith and he wants to be baptized
so badly. So we just emphasized repentance and how the gift of the Holy Ghost will help him. It went so so well! Everything was perfect.
And in the end, he committed to live the Word of Wisdom. We were blown
away. We thought that this would be a struggle. I can truly testify that
the Spirit softened his heart. I'm so glad that Sister Furstenau and I
are 100% obedient so that we can enjoy blessings like that :) Carlos will be baptized on July 13 :) :) :)I am still blown away that we found a person like this (well actually..i think he found us).
I
know that the Lord is moving his work forward and that there are people
that are being prepared and are prepared right now. I know that this
Church is true. I am witnessing it change peoples lives everyday. These
changes are only possible through Jesus Christ :) Oh man...I am tearing up now...:)
Well, I can honestly say that I have never been this happy in my entire life. What a blessing it is to be a missionary :)
I love you all and want to hear from each one of you!!!
All my love,
Hermana Tucker (most members in the ward call me Hermana Turkey. It is real cute.)
At the temple! Went on Friday!!! So fun :) Got to eat in the temple cafeteria. Best food. The rolls tasted like a Grandma made them :) The Las Vegas Temple has the most beautiful celestial room I have ever seen. Ever.
Me. Sister Furstenau. Her trainer Sister Celis (I went on exchanges with her on Tuesday) and Sister Celis' companion Sister Crowe.
Sister Neider!!!! Such a great lady.
I saw the CRAGUNS !!! They are so great!! They actually know Sister Furstenau's Grandma from when they lived in Chicago :) Small world!
Biked most of the day Tuesday!!! I think the high was around 105 degrees. Yep. I live in an oven.
This mornings surprise!!! Happy MONDAY!!!
