Bad Fruit. Good Fruit.

Alohaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!

Another week done? Well it has been a week of champions. #winning
It feels like it just started!

I will tell you the highlights!

Andres dropped us.

Yeah! Do you remember that golden elect contact from last week that I gushed about. Wellllll....

He dropped us.

Sad day.

We went over to his house Tuesday evening with the intent to teach him the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He hadn't done his reading (first red flag) that we left him with.  So in order to encourage him, we read some of it with him. We got to my favorite verse in 1 Nephi 1 (I am fairly certian that I have read this chapter a million times now with investigators) verse 12. It reads " And it came to pass that as he read, he was filled with the Spirit‍ of the Lord." Wow! How powerful is that? That is how I feel when I read the Book of Mormon. Even today, when I was dead tired I was studying an Isaiah chapter and it was so exciting!  Can you believe that I am saying that?!?! Isaish is exciting!!!! The spirit testifies though the scriptures and it can fill us. I know that this is true. No matter how I am feeling whether it be tired, alone, happy, or sad, the scriptures help me feel a little more filled up. So when we got to 1 Nephi 1:12, we stopped there to discuss it. HOW COULD YOU NOT DISCUSS IT! We testified of how the scriptures have impacted our lives and that was pretty much the last spitiual high of our lesson. Andres said that he didn't really want to do this. He didnt want to change, read, pray, NOTHING!!! That made me realize that we really do ask a lot of people, but it means nothing if they do not have a desire to do it. I have learned that we can't give someone a desire. Only the spirit can. One of Andres' biggest problems is that he said that he views prayer as a weakness. He does not want to have to humble himself. He felt really content with where he was at and how his life was going. But as we know, it is better to humble yourself than to be compeled to be humble. I know for me that I was praying the whole time that I would be able to show him Heavenly Father's love. Right now is not his time (clearly) but someday it will be :)

Anyway on with the good things from this week.

Mia went to girls camp.

And.....SHE LOVED IT!!!!

She bore her testimony....on the ward level...and THE STAKE LEVEL at camp :) All of the Young Women said that her testimony was amazing. THEN!!!!! They asked her to get up and bear her testimony at church. This girl is 12 and she has only been taught for 4 months. Everyone thought that she was a member! She said that the hardest part of being at camp was that she missed her Grandma and the Sister Missionaries. When she said that I just started crying. She talked about how getting a priesthood blessing really, really comforted her! It was so awesome! AND GUESS WHAT!!!! Mia's mother agreed that Mia can get baptized if she learns more about church history!!!!! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!! Finally! Church history, here we come!

Now time for QUESTIONS OF YOUR SOUL:
1. What is your favorite thing to do with Sister Herman?
- Eat watermelon during lunch and talk about Harry Potter.
2. What is your district like now?
- Diverse, but kind of boring. I have been out the longest in my district. Yikes!
3. What was the most awkward moment of your week?
- We were driving home from an appointment that was out of our area and we saw the Elders....we waved and said hi at the stoplight. Then we realized that it was our district leader and we had forgotten to get permission to leave the area to see our recent convert. They were nice about it!

I sure do love being a missionary! It is such a blessing to serve at this time! I know that this is exactly where I need to be! What a joy it is to have that knowledge! I love the tender mercies of the Lord! I was able to see this Mormon Message this week and I just love it! Here's the link! https://www.lds.org/media-library/video/2010-03-05-the-tender-mercies-of-the-lord?lang=eng If it doesn't work just YouTube "Tender Mercies of the Lord" It is amazing! I know Heavenly is aware of each of us individually! I am praying for you and am so grateful for the prayers I receive from you! Thank you for your great examples!

I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!
Love,
