East the BEAST

Aloooooooha!

Hey guess what? I am loving East Las Vegas. It is about as ghetto as can be. My area is like the least ghetto of them all.The temple is only about ten minutes away:)

I really love my new companion.
Of course I love you all too, but....

She is awesome
obedient
nice
sweet
and darling.

Being around her reminds me of when I had just finished being trained and my trainer left and I felt so lost! Despite all of that, we are working really well together! The Vegas Valley Ward is pretty great (nothing beats Q-Ridge). We have so many investigators....like 20!!!! It is incredible! We have an awesome family set with a baptism date! There name is the Brunos Family! They want to be baptized on the 31st.....WE CAN DO THAT!!!! It is a mom, dad, two son, and a daughter! THIS IS LIKE THE FIRST LEGIT FAMILY THAT I HAVE EVER HAD SET FOR BAPTISM!!!! I am pretty stoked!

So you know how i just said nothing beats the Quail Ridge Ward? Well for the next part of my email I would like to express the lamentations of a Sister Tucker that misses q-ridge. I MISS:

-the wonderfulness of each ward member
-the over and beyond effort from the ward council in regards to reactivation and missionary work
-the touching testimony of Bishop Durham
-the awesome Ward Mission Leader and Ward missionaries
-the uplifting spirit at so many homes

It is all true. All of it.

Anyway...on to my week:
On my last full day in q-ridge...we went by the Gutierrez home and the Honycutts! Everyone wanted to feed us goodies! They are all so nice! We had my final lesson with Frank over ice cream....which I did not eat because ice cream no longer agrees with my stomach! Sad day. We read 2 Nephi 31! I think he was really touched :) He really wants this gospel for himself. I took tons of pictures of my last few days so I hope you all enjoy putting the names with faces now!

The next few days were a blur of new faces, adjustments, walking up and down stairs, and awkward getting to know you conversations. Let's just say that I feel a lot better now that I have gotten into the swing of things! Lucky for me I AM NOT IN A TRIO!!!! I was freaking out about that! I was so afraid about balancing in lessons and trying to help us all get along. All is well now. I am so super stoked to spend this transfer with Sister Herman!

NOW IT IS TIME FOR THE QUESTIONS OF YOUR SOUL?!?!?!?!:

What are your new companions like?  Where are they from?  Older younger?  How long out?  What are their strengths?

Well it is just Sister Herman and I! Her family lives in Tennessee now (we are next door neighbors with me being from North Carolina!) but she considers herself a Texan. She turned 19 in January so I'm older. She has just finished being trained so she has been out 2 transfers.

How's the ward in your new area?
It is great! So many people came up to me at church to introduce themselves! They are so, so, so nice! We had 7 investigators at church and the members helped them every step of the way. It really impressed me.

How's the apartment?
It is upstairs :( but...we have two bathrooms so it is all good. I am super grateful that it does not stink! There is so much healthy food in the fridge! I love it! I will take pictures for next week!

What do you like best about this transfer?
So far I love that we are teaching so many people! Usually the sisters here get about 21 member present investigator lessons a week! That is really great for missionary standards!

Well that is a little taste of the glory!

I love you all so much!

Love,

Sister Tucker

SISTER HYMAS! She is sure a strong lady!
