Are you PT?

Today I realized that Hermana Parkinson and I are PT.
P because her name is Parkinson & T because I am Tucker.

As a child, my Mom told me about how she played a game with her brothers where you would ask someone, "Are you PT?"
If they said yes, then you would say...."You're a pregnant turtle!!!!!!!!!!!!"
If they said no, then you would say...."You're not potty-trained?!?!?!?!!"
My siblings and I would use it on each other and now that we are older, sometimes we bring it up just for fun.

Buuuuuuuuut......something about PT just clicked in my head today and I seriously laughed for a minute or two :) :) :) Then I got to thinking....we really are PT. We are PERFECTLY TERRIFIC. My companion and I have grown a lot together. We have had good days of missionary work and not so good days of missionary work. We have learned how to find, teach, encourage, forgive, serve, and love. The beginning of this transfer was hard for me. I was expecting the same success I had had with Hermana Furstenau. I measured that success in numbers. I was thinking about 1 baptism each month for September and October. But I think Heavenly father had a different plan. He wanted me to learn how to find. He wanted me to learn to open my mouth. We have talked to everyone. It has been amazing to see how much the Lord will help you if you just do things the way He wants them done. When we give our will to Him and when we put Him first,  it just works out.

One of the blessings we have seen was a lesson we had last night with Mariana and Marlon. They are the best. Marlon is from Nicaragua and served as a missionary in Honduras. He has not been active for the last 10 years or so. Mariana is from Mexico and is sort of Catholic, but not like really Catholic. They have an 8 month old son Diego with the fattest, cutest cheeks ever. Marlon called us in early July saying that he wanted to repent and go back to church. He also said that Mariana wanted to be a new investigator. Hermana Furstenau and I were like SWEET!!!!! Well, we went over and she didn't really want the Gospel as much as Marlon wanted it for her. So we took everything slowly. Yesterday they had us over for dinner. Hermana Parkinson and I felt inspired to take them "The Family: A Proclamation to the World." We shared it with them at the end of dinner. It was perfect. Mariana had been having problems feeling like she was dragging their little family along and Marlon realized he needed to be better and repent more. Then Mariana told us, "Girls, I have been thinking about baptism a lot and I think it will help me have a new life." We were SHOCKED! We asked her if she would be baptized on October 26th and she said yes. She is ready. I have learned that when we have love for other people and follow the Spirit, miracles can happen. We had no idea that Mariana was ready to change, but the Lord did :) I feel so blessed to have these edifying, uplifting and even fun experiences. It makes the hard times all worth it :)

Thanks again to everyone for the birthday card pictures, emails, messages, cards, letters, and packages. I had an awesome birthday and it made my day!

Love,
Hermana Tucker
